Karl Lagerfeld to design homes in Dubai

Karl Lagerfeld may be the most influential luxury fashion designers of the 20th century.  He's responsible for some some of Chanel, Fendi, and Chloe's most popular pieces.  Now the poweder haired designer will be designing homes on Dubai's Fashion Island, which is one of the islands that make up The World, a group of manmade islands of the coast of Dubai which are in the shape of all the continents on the globe.  He will start by designing 80 homes on Isla Moda and will continue to work on future projects in the Middle East and India.

Shaq dissin' Kobe

I was in Dubai when this happened, but damn, this is too much.  Shaq says he was just freestylin' and its all in fun.  Kobe, still no comment.

So this is how I score it:
Kobe 3
Shaq 4 + 1 for getting the whole club to say...

Homecoming...I'm coming home again

It's been awhile but I'm happy I'm back. Unfortunately, this trip will be short lived because I'm planning my trip back to Dubai. I'm looking for an apartment out there, so if you know anyone who has a property they want rented out - holla at me!

Up until now this blog has been primarily about informing people about the middle east real estate surge. It's a cash cow and I'm just another milk man taking my share of the cream. Over the months however, I've focused less on the market in Dubai and Middle East and more about everything that interests me. I plan to be consistent. I want to educate people in the US that there's money to be made there. I'm making it, you can too. But this will not exclusively be a place a real estate site. I think that's lame, and that's not who I am.
In the next few months this blog will reflect who I am, my interests, and my aspirations and goals for the rest of the year.
Catch me if you can...

Quick updates:
Went to NY on my way back to Vegas. Tried to link up with Sickamore from The Famous Firm to chop it up and play some poker but he had business in Chicago. As he says on his blog, Thank God I'm Famous, championships are won on the road. I was in Atlantic City for one night. It's no Vegas, 'nuff said.
Landed at LAX. Bomb threat ensued. No joke.
Was in Vegas for less then a week before coming back to Los Angeles for some business. Blogging from here now while looking for an apartment in the Dubai Marina area.
By the end of July the blog will have a new look.
August I'll be leaving the US for a year.

Celtics Baby!!!

Just a friendly reminder.

You didn't win. Take the summer off Kobe, spend time with the family, reflect on what went wrong, and remember, no matter what, if you could change anything...you would get the same result.

Text message from the Dubai Police

You can't hide from big brother in this country.
Right before I walk in to The Great Kabab Factory in Old Town for an early dinner, my partner shows me his phone and asks me if I was joking with him. His iPhone just received a text message from the Dubai Police.
Okay, so now I'm thinking what the hell is this about. How did the Dubai Police get his number, why the hell are they texting him, and why did try have to text him in Arabic. That's great, we are foreigners, and the police gives us a ticket in Arabic and follows that up 2 days later with a text that we can't read. Awesome.
We call the police and tell them that this text message was sent to him by them, but his phone doesn't have Arabic language so he doesn't even know what it says. They put him on hold and he talks to someone else, and this guy tells him "I'm busy with paper work, call me later,
but don't worry if we want you we will get you." haha what the hell? These guys are like, we will send you a text message to let you know were looking for you, so you've got time to run, but don't worry we will find you in the end.
Tomorrow - hit the embassy and say hi.
The saga continues...
